mission & values
Our Mission
Meals on Wheels (SA) Incorporated provides meals, personal contact, and security to elderly, housebound, and disabled members of the community and their carers through its Branch Volunteers.
What are our values?
Meals On Wheels is a not-for-profit, local community, branch based, volunteer organisation working throughout South Australia. It is made up of people from all parts of the community committed to helping people live independently in their own home.
- We engage in our activities with compassion, care and respect for our clients, volunteers and staff.
- We value teamwork and we work in teams.
- We embrace a community volunteer ethic and we are not politically or religiously aligned.
- We are independent and autonomous but we are properly and appropriately supported by all tiers of Government.
- We have a clear and specific purpose but are also part of the broader welfare and volunteer sectors of the communities in which we work.
- We are a 'doing' and 'hands on' organisation and we approach our activities in a commonsense and straightforward way.
- We value our volunteers highly and we aim to provide an environment where their volunteer experience is satisfying, rewarding and worthwhile.
- We are accountable to the community we serve and conduct ourselves in a responsible manner with honesty, fairness, prudence and integrity.
